A New Year…

Wow, where did 2015 go… I can’t believe we are already nearing the end of January 2016. Only a few weeks left of holidays until school and work schedules resume all over again.

Although before the hustle and bustle returns, be sure to take the time to reflect on the past year and plan for the new year, (see my new year’s day post for more).2016 is a new year full of unique opportunities, interesting findings, fun adventures. A year when new friendships are formed, old ones grow, and lots of happiness and laughter filled memories will be made.

Today’s post is all about a new year full of possibility, a blank canvas ready to be painted on, a novel waiting to be opened. So don’t let the endless possibilities and ideas make you feel anything but excitement! 2016 can be anything you wish. Make it your’s! 🙂

I thought a perfect way to symbolise this would be to share with you a little project I’ve been working on…. designing my own 2016 personalised calendar! I bought a DIY kit from Kikki.K back in December and have been collating images and quotes to symbolise each season. I hope you enjoy scrolling through the end result as much as I enjoyed making it! 🙂

January: A month full of beach days, sunglasses, poolside milkshakes and holiday fun!

February: The ‘back to routine’ month… Although Summer hasn’t quite left us yet…

March: When we pack away our swimsuits and beach bags, preparing for the season to come…

April: Time to replace cardigans with jumpers and milkshakes with hot chocolates…

May: A time to collect autumn coloured fallen leaves from the park and pull out our winter coats…

June: Winter has arrived. Beanie and marshmallow toasting weather…

July: Time for snowflakes on noses snaps and building snowmen… (in some countries)

August: A month of trailing new soup recipes, thinking of tropical weather holiday destinations to help forget about the cold & wearing Ugg boots…

September: Spring has sprung, the winter chill has vanished and it’s time to put away everything wooly and take photos of the new spring growth…

October: A time to picnic under the shade of the springtime flowering trees, experiment with fizzy drink flavours, determining the summer to come’s ‘go-to’ menu…

November: The time when summer fast approaching, the weather warming up, and the flowers blossoming… the perfect time for a picturesque bike ride through nature…

December: Summer has arrived, and it’s time to go clothes shopping again. Christmas is almost upon us, and the scent of sunscreen can be found in every corner of the house. Ahhh, summer time. Ice-cream anyone?

I hope you enjoyed this new year post. Do you have any new year’s resolutions you’d like to share? Rituals you have with the coming of a new year?

I’d love to hear all about them in the comments section below. 🙂

And remember 2016 can be anything you wish. Make it your’s!
