AUTUMN STYLE: The Shoe Edit

There are so many trendy footwear styles this Autumn/Winter season, it’s a struggle to pick a favourite… That’s why in this post I’ve put together some of my favourite styles and included style tips on ways to incorporate them into your unique style this season! Enjoy!

#1: The sneaker…

I know I’ve been blogging about the sneaker on a few occasions recently, I just love this stylish shoe! It’s both edgy and chic, on trend, perfect for achieving an on trend street style look, comes in endless styles and colours, AND they are  comfortable… What’s not to love?

Style tip: For this seasons essential ‘it-sneaker’ I’d recommend New Balance (their 574 collections are my favourite), and Adidas Stan Smiths…

#2: The tasseled heel…

For a start, this new heel trend is both classic and very edgy. The heel adds both flare and zest to every outfit, think denim jeans, burgundy nail polish, leather jackets, a top knot, you name it… It can work!

Style tip: A black leather jacket would be my go-to jacket, ripped jeans, and a burgundy loose fitted blouse… Style Perfection 🙂

#3: The Metallic Loafer…

The loafer is comfy, is flat soled, and is flying off the shelves this season, being one of the most practical and on trend shoe styles of the season. Best of all they can work with just about any style. Whether it be an edgy pair of ripped jeans, a chunky turtleneck sweater, or red lipstick… you get my drift… 🙂

Style tip: In a metallic hue, these trendy flats are ideal 9-5 wear and beyond!

#4: The lace up heel…

The trend of wrap around laces has come back into fashion over the last few seasons, from gladiator sandals and wrap around lace up flats, so it makes perfect sense that this trend has adapted to the change in season and continued to maintain it’s style status. Now a lace up flat and lace up heel, what’s not to love…

Style tip: Coming in a huge range of colours and textures, this ‘it shoe’ can work with any style. I love the Autumnal hues of burgundy, camel and mustard; but that’s not to say I wouldn’t mind a pair of emerald green or pastel pink lace up flats sitting in my wardrobe! 🙂

#5: The POM POM heel…

Okay, I’m not going to lie… This on trend heel isn’t for the faint hearted when it comes to fashion. It’s incredibly edgy yet classic and chic (I know right!?) and has been featured in many Autumn/Winter 2016 fashion weeks and designer runways.

Style tip: Pair this statement heel with neutral block colours to make a style statement. Think cocoon coats, the classic french trench coat, or a black chunky turtleneck…

#6: The classic black leather boot…

Although not quite as we are used to seeing it. A reoccurring trend in footwear this season is the importance of texture and colour. I know, these ankle boots are black, but with the added pleated detail they are given a whole new edge.

Style tip: Again, pair this Autumn favourite with minimalistic clothes, such as a loose fitted collared shirt (trend alert – sorry I couldn’t help it 🙂 ) or a grey sweater…

#7: The slip-on sneaker…

Although lace up sneakers are wardrobe essential this Autumn/Winter season, don’t cast aside the slip-on sneaker. It’s made a comeback and is showing no signs of disappearing anytime soon.

Style tip: I’d recommend Superga for comfortable, well made and classic style sneakers, both slip ons and lace ups.
