There have been quite a few fashionable events in the first few weeks of May…
From the 2016 Met Gala, the Logies, and the Cannes film festival, there have been many red carpet gowns. Today’s most is a roundup on my favourite gowns from these three stylish events in May. Enjoy!
The 2016 Met Gala
The theme for the 2016 Met Gala was Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology, many stars wore hints of the theme in their accessories and gowns, although many stars wore what they pleased.
Here are some of my red carpet highlights…
Rachel McAdams wore a beige sequin Valentino long sleeved gown with exquisitely intricate detailing. The celebrity managed to mix glam and edge into her look, meeting the brief and beyond…
Nina Dobrev also wore a gold embellished gown to the 2016 met Gala, although she channeled a more classic and fairytale ball gown look…
Emma Watson, actress and HeforShe ambassador, chose a environmentally designed gown for the 2016 Met Gala, made entirely from recycled materials. Talk about high tech…
Clare Danes also mixed classic and modern, wearing a glow in the dark Cinderella inspired pastel blue off the shoulder down gown…
Here’s what her dress looked like all lit up…Amazing right?
Gigi Hadid followed the Met Gala was Manus x Machina theme to a tee, wearing armour under her Versace gown…
And you’ll never guess how much her manicure cost…
Only $2,700 …
Loving the dazzling metalic effect of the sliver sequins on Larson’s Proenza Schouler gown. Stunning yet edgy…
Although the 2016 Met Gala red carpet was on every fashionista’s mind, the Logies red carpet did not disappoint! Here’s some of my highlights…
Delta looked like a real life Cinderella at the 2016 Logies, wearing a stunning gown with floral detailing and tulle. Goodrem completed the look with tousled rapunzel like locks and light and summery makeup. What’s not to love?

Another gown that took my breath away at the Logies was Carrie Bickmore’s edgy and sophisticated evening gown. Paired with her radiant smile and tousled up-do, the star certainly earned a place in my best dressed blog roundup, looking a little Great Gatsby!
Another gown that caught my attention was worn by Livinia Nixon. With geometric style detailing and bold makeup and glam waves, the ensemble was rather classic and trendy.
The actress wore an intricately detailed gown to the Logies. Her bold Autumnal makeup and slicked back high pony meant the dress could express it’s full charm and modern vibe with statement shoulder pads and low v-neck design.
Yet another red carpet event took place recently this month too, the Cannes Film Festival. The 69th annual Cannes Film Festival opening gala red carpet’s theme was ‘Cafe Society’ which many stars nailed to a tee.
I absolutely love this timeless gown of haute couture… Where to begin – the classic minimalist black halter-neck, the fanned out pleated floor length skirt, the elegant drop earrings, the high bun… the list goes on! Very Audrey Hepburn…
Amal opted for a classic pastel yellow floor length gown, paired with retro glam waves and classic red lipstick. Such a timeless ensemble…
However alongside Victoria Beckham, Blake Lively caught the red carpet by storm…
Pairing a classic design red jumpsuit and complimenting choker/train, the star achieved a rather trendy and edgy look yet still managed to incorporate classic chic.
Blake Lively wasn’t the only star snapped dressed in red at the festival. Katy Perry wore a vintage flamenco dancer looking gown designed by Marchesa.
The star also performed at the festival in a gold glimmering ensemble…
Karlie Kloss also wore a stunning Marchesa gown to the AMFAR gala in Cannes. However Karlie’s gown was an elegant black off the shoulder gown with floral detailing…
