As I’m writing this blog post I cannot believe it is almost August…
Although the month felt it passed like a blink of an eye, July’s fashion trends, runways, street style, flatlays, beauty, trends, and style did not disappoint. That’s why I’ve collated some of my favourite pieces, trends, recipes, beauty, quotes, blog posts, and much much more for you to enjoy reflecting on the chic month of July… Enjoy!
Colour Palette: Rose Quartz is The New Rose Gold
Where to begin? I absolutely adore this colour palette… The minimal cashmere knit adds a relaxed vibe to this stylish ensemble. Mix in Rose Quartz, one of Pantone’s colours of the year, a trendy felt fedora and sneakers for a street style vibe. Swap the sneakers for pointy ballet flats or patent heels for a more formal look, perfect for 9am-5pm wear & beyond…
If you’re style could be described in a similar way, I’d recommend my style blog post on minimalist style for a rainy day. 🙂
All in The Details: The Perfect 9-5 Bag
As the temperature has decreased, so have the sizes of handbags. It’s all about the details this season and making a style statement whilst dressed understated. Confusing, I hear you. The good news is that all you need to achieve such a look is pair your everyday Winter wardrobe with chic and iconic essentials.
Style tip: Pair neutral hued turtlenecks, an oversized top-coat, culottes or black jeans, and your go-to pair of shades with a statement designer handbag for an understated style statement.
Hemline Check: Midi & Maxi Skirts Are The Next Big Thing
Whilst the bag sizes are shrinking, the skirt hemlines are growing. If you’ve been on any fashion blogs recently or Instagram, you’ll have noticed the trend of midi and maxi skirt and dress hemlines. Think maxi length slip dresses & midi length pleated skirts…
The Shoe Edit: Sneaker
I love sneakers and incorporating street style into my everyday look, and the fact that sneakers have been trending for the past few seasons like never before has no complaints from me. 🙂
From rose gold tipped, all white, floral, black, grey, patterned, velcro, metallic, you name it, there’s a sneaker designed out there catered to your stylish taste. These Common Projects Pink Achilles Three Strap Sneakers caught my attention a few weeks back when I was exploring the CBD… Aren’t they just gorgeous?
The Minimalist Backpack
I absolutely adore the current trends of backpacks being incorporated into everyday style and considered chic. Many labels have been designing some minimalist and simple designs that are both classic and modern, not to mention on trend and one of the latest it-bags. I love this Mansur Gavriel backpack in blush…
However if Mansur Gavriel isn’t quite in your budget, brands like Forever New, Country Road, Sportsgirl, and Witchery are all designing some gorgeous styles that you may like. I personally love this Forever New Skyler backpack in soft grey. This style also comes in black. For more gorgeous Forever New backpacks click here.
Somewhere of The Rainbow: Bold Colours & Patterns
Bold colours and block prints have been dominating the street style scene in current months and July has been no exception. Whether it be a block colour leather jacket, a pom pom appliqué sweater, statement shades, colourful heels, 0r even just a small block colour handbag can add volumes of chic and just the right amount of colour to your outfit.
The It-Jacket: The Bomber Jacket
Bomber jackets have been on designer catwalks, the street, featured in magazines, and all over Instagram in recent months, but July has been the month it’s reached domination in the fashion world. Designed in various patterns, materials, fabrics, colours and styles, the bomber jacket can suit all styles if styled the right way.
Style Tip: For an elegant evening wear vibe, pair black culottes, a pussy bow shirt, metallic brogues and/or flats and a block colour or neutral hue bomber jacket for ultimate sophistication.
