LIFESTYLE: A Day in The Country

Last weekend I was fortunate to escape the hustle and bustle of day to day city life and took a day trip to the Mornington Peninsula. There’s something so calm and unique about stepping outside and exploring the little things in life…

That’s why I just had to share some of my favourite snaps from my travels. I visited the Big Shed Balnarring which is a newly opened quant little market with many original and Insta-worthy creations.

Red Hill Lavender also had a market stall there, featuring their incredibly fragrant produce,  including lavender hand washes, soap bars, body lotions, fresh and revitalising facial mists, as well as gorgeous little lip balms and scrubs.

There were also many gorgeously crafted accessories and homewares on offer. Talk about vibrant colours…

Next we stopped at The Red Hill Baker for a bite to eat, where chicken mayo and avocado rolls did not disappoint. Afterwards we visited The Wise & Co Dispensary, where I felt like I was in a lolly shop… 🙂

Stocking oh so photogenic visual merchandising of the likes of Ecoya, Grown Alchemist and Glasshouse Fragrances, what’s not to love?

After much retail therapy, a stroll along the beach was in order. We decided on Shoreham, and didn’t look back. Needless to say, the view was picturesque – we couldn’t have chosen a better day. Although the Spring air still had a chill to it, so swimming wasn’t on the cards.

If you follow me on Instagram (@daisy_chain_daydreams), you will have noticed I love salted caramel. Whenever we’re down by the beach, a gourmet salted caramel gelato is a must. Again, The Red Hill Baker stock a gourmet selection including apple crumble, French vanilla, forest berries and of course my favourite – salted caramel! 🙂
