Autumn Layering Essentials

Transitioning from Summer into Autumn can be a bit of a tricky phase – to wear a cardigan or a coat?! The struggle is real. That’s why I thought I would create a round up of comfy and chic layering essentials perfect for Autumn!

 Bell Sleeves

I have a confession to make: I’m head over heels in love with the bell sleeve trend! Statement sleeves add a lovely flare to an otherwise minimalist outfit and are a 9-5 kinda girl’s dream. You can experiment with this new trend in a few different ways: subtle, middle range or all out extravagant. For a subtle hint, I would suggest a blouse with bell sleeves just as cuffs, for a medium impact: elbow onwards, or for full on extravagance above elbow… I think I will be starting with cuffs (but who knows!)

I’d suggest brands like Zara, Witchery, Topshop and Forever New for some sleek designs; for a more designer purchase, Chloé have some gorgeous styles… #wishlist 🙂

Logo T-Shirts

All you have to do is refresh your Instagram feed or open Pinterest to know logo tees are having a moment this year. From Gucci to Calvin Klein – lots of brands are on board with this trend. It’s a street style lover’s dream…

From bomber jackets, statement sneakers, to groovy sunglasses and jeans – you can practically pair logo tees with anything! I personally love how LA based blogger Michelle Take Aim has styled them here.

Pleated Skirts

Pleated skirts hit the big time in 2016, but are ever evolving in the new year! There are numerous designs out there now, from metallics to pastel hues – there’s a style for everyone. Some of my favourite places to browse for pleated skirts are The Iconic, Forever New and ASOS.

Neutral Scarves

Whether you’re taking the dog for a walk around the block, off to meet girlfriends for brunch or out shopping – scarves are a fashionista’s essential! In the early weeks of Autumn (depending on the climate where you live), I’d suggest investing in some light, silky styles which will keep you nice and cozy, whilst still looking super stylish. Labels such as Indus and Country Road have some gorgeous designs.

Jeans Update: Embroidered Denim

You can pack your staple black jeans away for now – cause there’s a new girl in town! It’s no secret embroidered denim is dappling in the style spotlight and I’m all for it. From floral denim jeans to personalised leather jackets (swoon) – it’s the perfect update to your Autumn wardrobe! Brands like Topshop and ASOS have an amazing range of designs. If you’re looking for a more high end purchase – brands like Gucci have some oh so lovely designs…
