With the arrival of Winter, the chilly breeze has well and truly set in…
Changing between seasons can sometimes prove a challenge as the weather is going through an ‘in between’ phase which I think is rather inconsiderate for fashionistas! 🙂
Anyhow, I thought I would share some of my favourite Winter coats this season and some styling tips to make the most of the cool weather.
Keep it Neutral
A classic neutral coat is a must-have Winter essential. You can find many gorgeous and well-made designs on the high street (that don’t cost an arm and a leg), as well as some designer luxe buys if you’re looking for a real investment piece.
I love how Fashion Jackson has effortlessly styled a warm Winter grey coat with a neutral chic camel scarf, black boots (a wardrobe staple!) and jeans. Of course, some Celine accessories will do the trick too… 🙂
You’re Making me Blush
If you’re looking for a way of embracing the blush trend this Winter season, why not experiment with a blush/salmon pink coat. It’s a great way of introducing a pop of colour into your Winter wardrobe without overdoing it (if you get what I mean?!).
Talk about ultimate French chic sophistication… Pairing a grey frayed linen scarf with a long Winter grey overcoat and white jeans, Garance Doré looks elegant and very chic. Needless to say, the French photographer, illustrator, author and fashion blogger, is rocking this trend.
If you’r looking for a way to incorporate this look into your everyday style, why not trade the black heels for some trendy white sneakers or black ankle boots…
Blush Leather Jacket
Leather jackets are a fashionista’s dream – they are so versatile and work for just about any occasion. I love how this blush hue really softens the leather. Hoard of Trends has styled one here effortlessly with metallic sneakers, denim jeans, a neutral over the shoulder bag and a bunch of colourful tulips. #onpoint 🙂
Another trend I’m loving at the moment is fur coats! From classic monochrome, to blush pink to emerald green – there are so many fabulous designs on the market this season… An Australian brand I’m loving at the moment is Unreal Fur, which pride themselves for creating luxurious and ethical faux fur. The Classic Blazer
Needless to say, I had to include the classic blazer in this year’s Winter Coat Report 2017. It is such a French style essential and is forever being updated into modern hues – think the blush pink ‘power suit’ and the chic monochrome number… A personal favourite is the classic navy – it literally goes with everything in my wardrobe – no matter the season or year! 🙂
The Trench with a Modern Twist
If you’re looking for a way of introducing the classic French trench coat into your personal style but are finding it difficult (your style might be more modern or street style – understandable), don’t fear – this is the perfect look for you!
I love how this fashionista has styled such a classic wardrobe essential with a modern and edgy black box clutch and layered it with a grey chic hoodie.

Add a Pop of Colour
Boucle coats are all the rage at the moment. I love how fashionista Hoard of Trends has cleverly styled a classic striped long sleeve tee with white sneakers (bless), a Chloé Faye bag, leather pants and a gorgeous burgundy boucle coat. Very Pinterest! 🙂
I hope you enjoyed this week’s Winter style post!
I have lots of exciting and new content planned for this Winter so stay tuned for weekly posts (and sometimes more – yay!) on all things fashion, beauty & lifestyle related.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend! 🙂
