2017 IT BAG: The Basket Bag

Let me start this week’s blog post by saying this – it has taken me a lot of self control to wait until Spring in the Southern hemisphere (where I live) to post this. I’ve seen so many gorgeous ways to style the basket bag trend across Europe over the past few months and thought I would share some of my favourite outfits with you today.

I hope you enjoy it! πŸ™‚

Monochrome Chic

I love reading the Fashion Jackson for style inspiration and just had to include this look in this week’s blog post. This outfit is so chic – I love how Amy has styled her Cult Gaia basket bag with black jeans, a white ruffled blouse and heels. This is such polished ensemble perfect for a dinner date, work and/or any Spring & Summer event.

Pretty Pastels

As Kate aptly captioned this gorgeous snap on Instagram – she truly does look like she has walked out of a Marc Jacob’s Daisy advertisement… I love how she has styled her bamboo basket bag with a flowing pastel pink pleated skirt, white knit and round metallic sunglasses (LOVE)! This outfit is perfect for cool Spring days – I’m thinking a girl’s day out or birthday party…

Beachy Days

Another favourite blogger of mine is Atlantic Pacific – her style is so unique and pretty. I’m loving this cute combo at the moment. By pairing a basket bag with an off the shoulder dress, espadrilles and statement sunnies, you’ve found yourself a winning outfit formula for the warmer months.

Ruffles

Although the natural bamboo Cult Gaia basket bag has been starring in the limelight most of the time – it also comes in black which is a little different and just as chic! I love how Amy has styled it here with a gorgeous ruffled off the shoulder jumpsuit, heels and black accessories. Talk about outfit coordination goals! πŸ™‚

Boho Vibes

I love how Alix has styled this cute pom pom basket bag with a boho off the shoulder dress, neutral leather sandals and statement sunglasses. This look is perfect for those boiling Summer days and is a must have outfit for a weekend getaway… tropical island escape anyone? πŸ™‚

Pretty in Pink

Again, like I mentioned before – Atlantic Pacific’s style is like no other. She is so clever in the way she pairs clothes and accessories together and her blog is so dreamy… This outfit is no exception – I love everything pink so I knew I had to include this in a post this Spring & Summer season. This outfit is perfect for any occasion, especially a Spring picnic or a girly get-together.

The Classic White Shirt Dress

I love how Suzie has given the classic white shirt dress a modern twist by pairing it with an on trend basket bag and designer statement sunglasses. For a casual vibe I’d suggest pairing this look with flat sandals or mules and for a more formal occasion, espadrilles. This is a Spring & Summer wardrobe essential every wear for me so I will definitely try and recreate this look a go as the weather warms up.
