Self-care is having a moment in the spotlight and so it should; some might even say it’s the new black… 🙂 As you all know, wellness was a major focus in the media in 2017 featuring kale, turmeric lattes, everything matcha, smoothie bowls & acai to name but a few… so today I thought I would share some of my favourite predicted wellness trends for 2018 (I’m sure there’re many more)… I hope you enjoy! 🙂
Green & Organic Beauty
Green beauty was certainly a major wellness trend in 2017, but its predicted that this organic and natural makeup and skincare movement will be soaring to new heights in 2018. With the rise of veganism, it couldn’t be a better time to introduce more cruelty and toxin free products into the market.
The Importance of Sleep
We all know how important it is to have enough sleep but it is predicted that with the rise of self-care in the new year, people will try and prioritise their rest and sleep more, whether this be by setting regular bedtimes or turning off technology an hour before going to bed.
Move over coconut oil, avocado oil is omega-3, antioxidant and rich in vitamin E and is predicted to be a major wellness trend in 2018. They say it’ll be perfect in DIY beauty recipes and also an alternative to olive oil in cooking. Oh, and the ever trending #avoontoast brunch movement shows no signs of stopping any time soon… 🙂
Greenifying your living spaces
Yes, I just created my one word to describe indoor plants… 🙂 no but seriously, indoor plants have been a major lifestyle and interiors trend in 2017, but they are beginning to become more well-known for their wellness and health benefits which is probably going to make them even more popular this year. I’m all for it, I love adding greenery to little nooks in my home… 🙂
Writing Things Down
From gratitude journals to organisation goals – bullet journals, pen and paper is having a moment and is set to continue to be popular in 2018. With all the gorgeous stationery brands, it’s time to pull out those blank notebooks and start writing! 🙂
Matcha lattes and Golden lattes may have been #onpoint in 2017, but charcoal lattes, ice-cream and skincare (in no particular order!) are predicted to be the new superfood for 2018… on a more informative note, charcoal is said to help detox and cleanse the body & skin which makes it a wellness pantry essential…
Bath time is set to become another regular self-care practice for when you’re not at yoga or meditating… I believe we’ll all be spending more time (and money) at LUSH this year! From essential oils and bath salts, to bath bombs and bath melts; there’s something for everyone on the market! 🙂
Digital detoxing become a popular movement throughout 2017, but apparently it’s set to become even more prominent and practical in the new year of 2018. Whether this be in the form of Sunday technology free days, switching off your phone that little bit earlier before going to bed and/or putting on do not disturb when working… I know I could do with a little bit of a digital detox at times! 🙂
